Suonino le campane a festa! No, non per il giorno del Signore, ma per questa inaspettata novella:
After a short but somewhat successful stint in the spotlight, Vancouver's The Organ disbanded in 2006, leaving fans worldwide wanting more of their sweetly morose indie pop sound. On Oct. 14, Mint/604 Records will release the six-song Thieves to serve as the band's final farewell.
When they broke up, The Organ (composed of singer Katie Sketch, guitarist Debora Cohen, organist Jenny Smyth, bassist Shmoo R. and drummer Shelby Stocks) were working on a follow-up to their one and only full-length, 2004's Grab That Gun. The new material was lost when the members went their separate ways. But they regrouped last year just long enough to record six previously unreleased songs.
The Organ formed in 2001 and released the Sinking Hearts EP a year later. Sketch (real name Katie Ritchie) has modeled for a number of magazines and had a 12-page spread in the September 2006 U.K. edition of Vogue.
Here are the songs on Thieves:
- "Even In The Night"
- "Oh What A Feeling"
- "Let The Bells Ring"
- "Fire In The Ocean"
- "Can You Tell Me One Thing"
- "Don't Be Angry"
